Can a 1967 b body automatic console be converted to 4 speed?

I know the top is available and the side is also.
But I wondered if it can be cut to match the 4 speed side panel?

Below are pictures of reproduction 1967-1970 B-Body automatic and 4 speed console bodies. I do know that the console mounting brackets, the left side console side moulding trim and the front shifter top finish plates are different between the 4 speed and automatic consoles and the left side console moulding trim mounting holes on the 4 speed and automatic console bodies are in different locations, so you'd have to deal with that, but maybe you could cover those holes with the console body carpeting?

I think that this conversion might be possible if you had all of the specialized 4 speed console parts on hand, but you might consider purchasing one of the reproduction 4 speed side covers if you don't already have one to see if it will match up to the automatic console body or not. The reproduction side covers run around $95.00 from various Mopar aftermarket parts suppliers.

Hello again Jim,

I found a couple of nice pictures that show the difference between the 1966 through 1970 automatic and 4 speed floor console mounting brackets. Obviously the middle bracket for the automatic style consoles that the shifter mounts to won't work for the 4 speed set-up, so you will need to verify if the 4 speed mounting brackets with interchange with the automatic console body that you have, as well as checking to see if the 4 speed side cover will mate up to the automatic console body like we've already discussed.

Please double check everything that you feel might be an issue on this conversion BEFORE you do any modifications on your console body, because having to purchase a replacement console body won't be inexpensive and I'd really hate to see you have to do that. I wish that I could tell you if this conversion will work for sure or not, but I can't because I've never done it myself, or seen anybody else do it, so you're travelling into unknown waters my friend.
