What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....???
Awesome work, its coming along nicely!!!

Cut and buffed trunk, right rear quarter, rear end, right door. Only the right fender and hood to go! Also started polishing and seeing how bad the original chrome and trim looks against the new paint. Lastly stopped in the see how the motor is coming. All machined and ready for assembly. I had Dave order a Edelbrock Performer and decided to let him assemble the long block for $300 it seemed like the smart thing to do.

Finished up the cutting and buffing! The paint is done! Started to polish and clean the tail trim. It really needs to be rechromed but that will be something after the bank account recovers Smile

Why didn't you paint the roof? It would have protected the top from rusting a lot more.

Vinyl roof goes on next. The epoxy primer will protect it more than anything else. There is 3 coats of that on the roof.

Don't let my wife read that. It is a WW1 car and I wanted just a pure white. She said the orange will really "pop" the chrome. I can't let in she was right! 😐

This weekend I was collecting up all the things I'm gonna' sell @ the Fall Fling. I found the sway bar off my racecar, and compared the dia against the one on my convertible. It was bigger so I figured I'd swap 'em out to get better handling for the convertible . . . got if off and discovered they are different even though both cars are big block-automatic 1966 Coronet 440's. Took a look at the lower control arms on both cars and saw that the brackets where the end-links attach are welded on in different locations. On the hard top (built Aug '66) they are out-side of the strut rod (between the strut and ball joint) and on the conv (built Sept. 15 '65) the brackets are inside the strut. Anybody seen this before?
If a man speaks while in his garage and his wife does not hear it, is he still wrong?
