You could do the chrome with bare metal foil - you can get it at a hobby shop. I used it on my '66 Dash and it looks awesome.

First guy-didn't check installed spring height. Given another chance to fix it.
Second time. Didn't check installed valve height. Didn't meet clearance specs. Valves apparently not sealing properly. Shoddy work overall.
Second guy-redoing all the work of the first guy. All new valves, seals and guides for the second time this year.
Engine was entirely rebuilt this year.
