What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....???
theman440 Wrote:Installed the wiper motor, removed the start & horn relays, cleaned & detailed the engine wire harness cleaned up parts of the firewall. Interesting note - the start & horn relays are the originals installed in Sept 1965 - 48 years old and they still work, just ugly.
I just recently replaced my original horn relay also, well built parts to hold up under that hot hood, dirt and water all those years.

I replaced the start relay with a Standard Motor Products unit - it's nearly identical. Maybe Standard was the original supplier in '65. I also got a SMP horn relay but it looks different from the original - I will be hunting down a correct one. Looks like the old design may have been replaced, I found a couple "correct" ones on ebay.

Don't know if anyone cares but the SMP p/n for the horn relay is HR-135. It physically looks different than an original but will probably do the job. The Mopar p/n is 2291436. I found an NOS Echlin relay that looks identical to the original - right down to the goldish colored plating, p/n HR-126. 14 bucks shipped...me like ebay.

Cleaned & detailed the headlight/park lamp harness, moved the headline ground wire to the front of the radiator support. Removed the fan to start detailing it.
