I guess the only other question is would having a fuse over/under the requested amps would cause the break lights to not work correctly?

Too big will cause a fire, that all you have to worry about. Have you gotten those 35 amps out yet?

I haven't, wont have the money till Friday when I get paid but its just sitting till then now.
I'm beginning to think I have major electrical issues though. Tonight I looked and now the dash panel lights aren't working at all. The driver side brake light isn't working but its tail light works fine. The passenger side brake light and tail light work fine. The dome light comes on when the driver side door is opened but the dash light doesn't When you open the passenger side door the dash light comes on but the dome light doesn't.
Also the other day when I was testing everything pressing the button on the driver side door that controls the dome light on/off made the dome light go off and not come back on. Checked the fuse and it was fine. Took the fuse out and put it back in and dome light worked as it should again.
Could cleaning off the metal tabs that hold the fuses in place be causing the issues? Still haven't cleaned them but intend on doing so on Friday when I get paid.
I know the driver side brake light has worked in the past but I seem to remember it working sometimes and sometimes not.
Are there any relay switches on the coronet I should be looking at?

You most likely have bad connections, they could be in the bulb sockets, sockets to ground. You are going to have to take you time with a meter to figure things out.
What is nice about these cars is that they are really simple.
Good luck.
