There is absolutely no firing at all. Could be the spark plug reach, also he has a little back flow through the carb during cranking.

I put the longer plugs in, sounds a little better can hear a couple little pops here and there but still lethargic. I adjusted the rockers (first time 1/4 turn) this time just took slack out and tightened the adjustor (thought being the valves were hanging up). No go, its a fresh battery as well. Its now being suggested I go 1/2 turn after I take the slack out.

not sure gents...going to try the latter tomorrow

Watch towards the end, gas is spraying the motor and fresh paint.

I think you might have a valve timing issue. It appeared the back blow is with every cylinder. Try to find exact TDC and pull a valve cover to see where the rockers are. Do you think the back blowing is from ignition or compression?

Got all your grounds in place? Battery Grounded to head via -Cable , perhaps this alone isn't a good enough ground I should perhaps ground to frame as well?

Friend stuck grape fruits in header collector ? Most of my friends are Irish, we deal our pranks out in Potatoes, which none were observed wedged in collector

Top dead center #1 valves are closed ? TDC then 20 Degrees to set rotor to point to #1

a major vacuum leak? At carb possible ?checked, new gaskets and ports are plugged, unless its internal

Do a compression check on a couple Good Idea!

Not certain, I wonder since I soaked the lifters in oil for about a week if I don't have them empty enough and its throwing off my adjustment

Did you bleed the air from the lifters after soaking them? Air bubbles can remain if you don't. Just a thought...
