What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....???
In all honesty, the car will probably never see the track again. If it does, it'll be for squirrel night where tech consists of "any power adders?". I've sold off the tires, pulled the loop, and other stuff.

It's just gonna have a nice mild 273 with a 4spd is all..

Well, it's been more than a week, but it's amazing how one thing leads to another. Started by installing the Pertronix Ignitor II. Installation was a snap, but voltage to the +ve side of the coil seemed inconsistent. Soooo, I ordered the "power relay" kit from Pertronix (Summit) and installed that. Problem solved. Oh yeah, I also managed to time the distributor about 10 degrees retarded.....oops. Anyway, while resetting the timing what do I see but anti freeze dripping out of the water pump.....damn! My friends at NAPA had me a brand new pump overnight & I finished up the install yesterday - painted the new pump & the fan & pulley while I was at it. Finally, all is well. Couple of funny things about the new pump - the bypass hose fitting threaded hole in the new pump was larger than the old fitting. A quick trip to the hardware store got me a reducer bushing that solved that. Also, the new pump has an extra threaded port on it that is plugged - no idea what it's for but it's not hurting anything - any ideas? Only thing planned for the long Winter is a carb rebuild since the accelerator pump is a bit weepy.

Nice job.

I had the same problem with the water pump on Jims wagon. They do that so it can fit many applications, that's all. PITA in my opinion.
