I didn't do much today, it is sooooo nice here in Vermont right now. The leaves are peaking up in the Kingdom and getting really bright here in the middle valley, blue skies, 65 degrees. Had to get out in it some. I did bang on a chunk of 3/16 x 3" plate to form a mounting arm to bolt the dash right side to. I'll weld it to the inside of the door frame and then bolt the mount flange to that and the aluminum dash frame to that. I heard about a guy that moved the wiper motor and brake power booster/ MC under the dash. He says to look for a van with those under the dash and pull them. Something I need to check up on. With this dash mounted where it is I have a space under there that's around 28" by 16" by the length of the dash. Plenty of room now for everything. I'm also covered up with winter prep for the livestock so they will be less stressed by the cold and snow. Thanks again to everyone that has commented, and stay tuned as I will post every once in awhile with pics of progress. Aslbow ( Ghostrider 67)

[URL="http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/m/mitchhedbe297438.html"]I know a lot about cars, man. I can look at any car's headlights and tell you exactly which way it's coming.

Thanks Smoke, I like it and it's a blast to re-engineer the thing.

Thanks cd45....I think so too. I want it to be a car that everyone at the shows stops and looks at and asks questions instead of strolling on by because it's exactly like 5 more they already saw.

Your signature line reminds me of when we were kids in the 60's. My brothers and I and the kids from across the road would "Sleep out" in the front yard in the summer and we would stay up late yackking and looking at the tail lights of passing cars in the dark. We got so we could ID almost any car by the tail lights..lol.

I have been busy and got some things done. I finished the passenger side fender modification today, sweeping the front edge back to a 90 degree angle instead. Needs a bit of filler but that's all.

I got the Satellite seatback finally and set it in place as a mock up behind the seats. It will set back an inch or two but at this height and the contours will continue to the back glass and diminish down to zero at the glass. The spare, tools, cleaning gear, parts etc will go under here, basically a trunk. I'll fab a panel to go down to the floor behind the seats. The center Satellite emblem will be changed to read either "Express" or "Coronet".

I took a trip to Gates Salvage up near the Canadian border and pulled a 66 T-Bird tail light set up including the buckets. I have sliced the T-Bird and the portion of the wings out of the center oval and will maybe place letters in there to read again either express or coronet. The unit is about 2 inches short on the ends but the 66 Charger one is too. I'll cut a couple of plates and shape to fit, paint flat black and fasten them in there to close out the ends.

It's coming along!

I made some progress on the T-Bird tail light housing fabrication. Using 20 gauge metal I formed a boxed panel to bolt to the bucket assembly and weld the bottom edge to the trunk floor rim and the inside wall of the trunk sides of the quarters. Cutting 3" holes behind each bucket to allow for pulling sockets etc. I had to cut the panel and do two pieces because my brake is only 30 inches wide. i'll stitch them back together after install. I removed the trunk rear seal lip that I had tacked up because it turned out to be too low and also cut out the area to both sides to fit up the light panel and then when it's where I want it i'll add back metal to bring it all back together. I also started on the quarter tail extension mods to close out the shorter ends of the T-Bird light panel. Changes the opening from square to an arrow shape like the end of the light panel. Will try panel bond on the edges that touch the extension and weld the face and new cup end together. Will go over that with filler. The Fury seatback arrived and now I can mock up the roadster type panel that will cover the area behind the buckets. Have Volvo V70Xc bucket seats right now but have looked at some Audi and some Buick SUV brown leather seats that I like better. I'm going back to the salvage yard and picking up the tail light sequencer from that T-Bird and the center trim for the light panel that I forgot. I'm also contemplating beginning a wiring diagram for this car, since so many things have been both changed, and added. I'll have to find diagrams for a 66 T-Bird, a 2002 Audi A6, a 1967 Coronet, a 1974 Dodge, and a 1970 Road Runner and cut and paste as it were. lol. Also bought a 66 Charger front grille assembly to put in.
