Part 1:
While I will focus on the 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 models for many of the parts that I will talk about in this thread, I will cover the codes for front bucket seats with Black vinyl seat covers on most all of the 1964 through 1974 models as well so that you can understand how these interior trim color codes work. Also please keep in mind that much of the information covering other interior parts for the 1966 Coronet 500 models will be similar for other model years. Colors and color codes will change from model year to model year, but the three to four digit color codes can be decoded in the same way for whatever car you're working on from 1964 through 1974 model years. The model years prior to 1964 have different style interior trim codes, so to keep things less confusing, I will not cover any model years prior to 1964 here. To also keep things less confusing, I will use the interior trim codes for cars equipped with Black vinyl bucket seats in all of my examples below.
1964 Through 1974 Interior Trim Code Location On Your Cars Fender Tag:
The number of digits used for interior trim codes from 1964 through 1974 will vary from three to four digits depending on the model year. This code will be stamped on your cars fender tag in the following locations.

Interior parts such as the headliner, door panels, armrest pads, kick panel covers, seat covers, carpet and other similar related interior parts are found in the Factory Parts Book in the "Interior Trim" sections. In the 1966 Factory Parts Book these Interior Trim sections are broken down into separate sections for "Plymouth", "Valiant", "Dodge", "Dart" and "Chrysler / Imperial" models.
Diagram #1: 1966 Factory Parts Book - Interior Trim - Dodge Section - Page 1 (Please Read Carefully!)
Please note on the above picture of page 1 of the "Dodge" section of the "Interior Trim" that the part numbers for many of the interior parts contain a combination of letters and numbers to help identify specific colors for each part rather that being made up of all numbers like most mechanical and body parts are.

Additional Reference Material:
One other reference book that I'd like to mention below is my purchased copy of the "seventh edition" of the "1966 - 1968 Chrysler Corporation Production Option Code Book" authored by Mr. Galen Govier. This book is very helpful regarding all of the available options for the 1966 through 1968 Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler and Imperial models and also gives lots of information regarding exterior and interior paint color codes, as well as interior trim, vinyl roof, convertible top and exterior stripe color codes for all of the 1966 through 1968 models. Mr. Govier still sells this book on his web site and it is also available on Ebay from time to time.
