Thanks again guys. I'm not sure discs would have helped. except that they react differently to power drum. With power drum, the brakes are all on with just a slight tap of the pedal, maybe 1/4 inch. My mistake was to drive the car with the brakes unadjusted. The pedal goes down about an inch then the brakes are ALL on. The tires are old, so that's one thing to fix. I think I'll order a set of Diamond backs real soon, I just got a set for my red car and I think they are awesome. I think I'll be in good shape then.
