1960 383 cross ram engine

I’m new to Mopar so when people here you have a Mopar they want to sell what they have laying around. With that being said a friend of a friend had a 383 for sale so I figured I check it out well it turns out to be a 1960 383 cross ram motor. The car was ordered by a local police dept. and they didn’t take all they ordered he bought the car new. In the 70’s the car got side swiped and instead of fixing he pulled the motor and junked the car. He feels the motor with all original parts on it is worth more then I paid for my whole car. Is there anyone out that knows what these motors are worth and can you shed some light on why.
