Gonna pull the 383 out of my 67 Coronet . Can I do it with the trans 727 still bolted up or do I need to pull it first ? Thanks . BooBoo

Id pull the trans first..so you dont have to shoe horn it out and risk scratching things...

I normally drop the tranny before I pull the motor. If nothing else, it keeps all of the tranny fluid from spilling everywhere.

I normally put the motor and tranny back in the car with the tranny bolted to the motor as one piece. Takes 2 people - one to guide the tranny in.

Can't you pull the engine and leave the trans in the car? That's what i'd do.

Also I think you need to jack the car up so the assembly will clear the ground or floor.
