Fender Tag
#1
Hope this is the right place for the question. Was wondering if you guys knew of a good online source to decode the fender tag, or if I posted a picture, someone could tell me what all it says and how to know what all the number mean? I'm not even how it reads, looks like some read top to bottom and some read left to right. I'm about to head to work, but I can post a pictur later on, got to switch computers to get to the pictures, I'll try before I go. Thanks in advance.

Guess nothing on there said it was a factory under dash air car? Pretty sure it is original. So, do you guys have a book or are you just that good!! No, seriously, I tried to decode it online and I found mixed information. The only thing I did find out for sure was the Medium Copper Metallic paint. Weird thing is the dash is brown, as well as the carpet, lower door pannel carpet, and not sure about the headliner color, just have the bows. It has black seats and it did have a black vinal top. I know it has been painted once, because they got it too light, found some peeling spots with darker underneith.

Look around under the carpet for a build sheet.
Objects quickly DISAPPEAR in the rearview mirror and PLEASE stay seated until the ride comes to a complete stop!!

Factory A/C would have been in-dash and it's not coded on the tag like it would be from the factory. Under dash would have been dealer or aftermarket. Neither would be unusual for the time and could very well be period correct and look factory. Also not listed above is R/1 AM radio, X/1 tinted windows and Y/6 black vinyl top. On line decoders are rarely very good. They can be more confusing than helpful. While the tag looks legit, have you confirmed it goes with this car by matching the Sales order numbers (08339) on the tag to the radiator support? It sounds like owners have make interior and exterior color changes over the years.

I haven't matched any numbers, so that number should be on the radiator support somewhere? Where would it be on the support? As far as I can tell, it looks all original, just a repaint and wheels, other than what had been done under the hood.

I did get around to look for the number on the radiator support, and it is there!
