66 Big Block Shorty Headers?
#31
What size motor are you installing these on? 361? 383?

So... Like every other time installing headers onto my motor, this weekend didn't fail to upset me, just like the previous times. No matter what the manufacturer promises, no matter what company makes them, they all seem to be full of sh*t. In a nutshell, These shorty's DO NOT fit a 66 B Body with a 440ci motor. Neither side fits. Trying to get it all in and buttoned up, the steering box scratched the drivers side tubes up pretty good, and the passenger's side, the header was going to crush in my inner fender well. So that was a fun waste of money and time for me.
If anyone wants to purchase these headers from me, I have to sell them. But know that they won't fit a 440 in a 66 b body. A 383 or 361, should be fine, like Zaq's examples above. How is it that nearly 50 years after this car has been around, a company still doesn't offer a decent set of good fitting headers? It's insane. All of my friends with C Bodies are laughing at me Sad They have room for days under the hood.
This isn't me beating a dead horse. This is me killing something out of frustration. beat dead horse

Can you return them? It the company claims they will fit, they should take them back. The TTi ones are supposed to fit. Or get yourself a set of HP manifolds like we talked about before.

I will attempt a return. The TTI ones are full length which is what I was trying to avoid. I'm looking for maximum ground clearance while retaining as much performance as possible. I have a set of the HP manifolds, but something about bolting those bad boys onto aluminum heads just innately seems wrong to me. haha. I'll sort something out for sure.

I'm not so sure bolting headers to aluminum is any better though.

HP manifolds fit, shorty style headers don't.
