I purchased my 65 440 4 dr sed in Philidelphia in 2017 and trailered it home to Michigan. The fuel tank sprung a leak on the trailer as I neared my house so, I lucked out not driving it home! I went through the entire car, rebuilding the 318, 727, front and rear suspensions. Pulled all 4 doors apart, cleaning and lubing the regulators, prepping and painting all the jambs, cutting out new plastic liners, and rebuilding the front hinges.
I installed new carpet, scrubbed the door panels and had the fabric replaced on the seats. Built a mini console to hold a new FM/CD player, cup holders, a digital volt meter, and a box of tissues.
The car had new brakes, tires, battery, and ball joints when I bought it so that was covered. Then I replaced all the rubber body seals and bumpers. I had the speedometer rebuilt as well. I added a oil pressure gauge in the clock area on the dash too.
Since I started driving it (no winter/salt) It has been a lot of fun. I get "thumbs up" everywhere I go and I have driven it over 14,000 miles so far.

Thank you, fellas! I've got about $7,500.00 invested, counting the $3,000.00 I paid for the car. I get 18/19 MPG on the road too.

I like that I'm a "junior" member! I'll be 74 in January.
