Hi Richard!

Without any other mods than just a tri carb setup ... what would be the the outcome to a stock 318 do you think?

Buddy with the gas station owner...;-)

I don't honestly know because I've never run that set up on a Poly 318 engine, but I'd think that it would work pretty well. That intake manifold is nothing radical and those style carbs aren't going to flow much more fuel than a decent single 4 barrel carb would. One draw back for some though, would be maintaining three carbs and setting up the throttle linkage correctly.

Morgan runs so good with its stock 2bbl I don't see us ever changing intakes on our poly.

Maybe if you had some engine mods or a hot rod like Jeff's it would be a good idea.

Hello Andy,

Couldn't you set it up to run on just the center carb until you put your foot into the accelerator pedal similar to the Six Pack intake systems? With the intake manifold runners as flat as they are on this intake, I think that this 3x2 set up is more show than go. I've seen one of these manifolds up close and personal years ago with three Stromberg carbs on it which are basically the same carb design as these Ford carbs are on this Ebay assembly and could have purchased it for pennies on the dollar compared to what this one on Ebay is going for, but I didn't have, or ever planned on running a Poly engine so I passed on it.

I have 3x2 9super7 carbs(stromburg 97) on my basically stock 318. It is a progressive linkage and it runs pretty good and was easy to set up. You can get everything new from speedway motors. I have the adapter to put it all on a 4bbl intake manifold
