Welcome. Love the 66 and really impressed you got the old Stromberg rebuilt without the accelerator pump sticking.

All is good with the accelerator pump but the gasket above the throttle body has a severe leak. I thought I had it cleaned up nicely but something must have gotten in there. It's sucking a lot of air. Guess I'll be tearing back into it tomorrow. Sure wish I could find a 4 barrel intake for less than $600!

I soaked the new accelerator pump in oil for about an hour and it's smooth as butter.

So awesome you still have your first car. My first was a 71 Duster with a slant 6. The car had no heater, in the winter I drove it to school every morning wrapped in a sleeping bag. Ran great though.

I feel your pain Robb! My Coronet still doesn't have heat. When I was driving it I had one of those little heaters that plugged into the cigar lighter. It worked just well enough to defrost the windshield. I always promised myself I wouldn't be one of those guys that had an awesome first car and sold it. Death is the only thing that will separate us!

Jim, you jinxed me! The accelerator pump was fine until I had to pull the carb back apart due to a leaky gasket.

Welcome to the DCR Tom!
Like you, I also own a 1966 Coronet 500 2 door hardtop that I've owned since 1989 and am looking forward to seeing the car turn 50 years old this coming summer! It came from the factory equipped with a 361 big block and Torqueflite automatic transmission, but has had a custom built 440 and custom built full manual shifted automatic in it since I installed them back in 1990/1991 and there have been many other modifications done over the years as well.
Your 66 is very cool indeed! It was difficult for me to see from your pictures, but does your car have a white interior? We'd all love to see more pictures and hear more details about your car!
