harold prentice Wrote:Made our first trip to Carlisle & thoroughly enjoyed it. Stopped by the Coronet Registry tent but the guys were just setting up so didn't chat too much. '66 Coronet 500's were pretty scarce, but this convertible was very sweet - 361, 4 speed - very rare. I was looking for an original console mount tach for my '66 but couldn't find one. My eagle eyed wife spotted one for a '68/'69 but I wasn't sure it would fit - never even asked the price but it probably would have scared me off! Did manage to but a "rubber" repop trunk mat that fits fairly well. Highlight was probably finding a '68 Runner that was an exact duplicate of my first new car in '68 - colour, wheels, post car, correct dog dish caps - only difference, this was a hemi car!
I think my 500 would have been a fit in the "survivor tent" but after an 1800 km round trip & with no trailer & a 4 cylinder Ranger tow vehicle, I don't think that'll ever happen!
I believe Mark Shaw's green 68 Hemi Road Runner recieved first place in it's class at the show.

I had a good time talking with everyone as usual. I wish I could have talked more but there is so much to do and see. I did find about 20 license plates to feed my new addiction. Went for a ride in a hellcat, I was impressed with its braking as much as the acceleration. I got to drive my friends 69 sports satellite hemi vert around the fairgrounds again just like last year so I let him drive my coronet around.
I didnt see mike or rich this year.
