1965 Dodge Coronet 440 seat belt question
#1
Hi,

Total newbie to this car. Front seat has seat belts (2). Rear seat does not. I'd like to put some back there. Easy enough to do? Run away? Can I get 3 belts back there?

Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you.

HA! I thought I saw that car on craigs list! It really is a beauty. Where are you from?

I don't know if 65s came with belts in the back as they were mandated in I think 66. Try to take the rear seat out and first see if there are any mounting points, I think there should be 4. Start with that. Whether they are there or not it shouldn't be that difficult to add them. You can get a set of factory style ones from a 66 or so. Or you could just get a set of aftermarket ones which will be cleaner and most likely colored similar to what you need.

Btw I'm from Waltham, I though it said it to the left, but for some reason it doesn't

there are no rear belts in my 65 and nowhere to attach any. I`m pretty sure they didn't come with rear belts. should be easy enough to add.

Hi Bill, do you ever get up to Kimballs in Lancaster? It's every Friday Night, I'll be there tonight.

Hello. my 65 440 Convertible didnt come with 3 rears also . I took a set from my 65 4 door parts car and doubled them up on the holes for the other 2 frame mounts... I have a bench in the front and also did this to the front. I am now legal and safe for 6 people cruising in my vert.

Hello Bill,

Here's what I found in the 1965 Factory Parts Book for seat belts.

It seems to me that up to 1966, seat belts were an option.
Objects quickly DISAPPEAR in the rearview mirror and PLEASE stay seated until the ride comes to a complete stop!!
