67 coronet with 273 engine have questions!!!
#1
sooo...I took my carb off of my 273 engine in my 67 coronet 500..
it has a 4bbl intake cast iron, looks factory or replaced years ago if it had a 2bbl at one time.
anyway who ever had the car before me had put a spacer on intake to adapt to the holley 4bbl...and well...it wasn't done correctly, had vacuum leaks, gas laying on intake blah blah..

so my question is what would have been a factory 4bbl carb for this car? thermaquad? spreadbore, carter, afb, etc...??? or was it a holley? the bolt pattern on intake is definitely not the same bolt pattern as my holley that was on it.

any pics of you guys factory set ups? or point me in right direction of carb that would work great on this? 273 seems stock with hooker headers...

In a Coronet a 273 never came with a 4 barrel. Only a 2. They did make a 273 HP for A bodies that was replaced I believe mid year with the 340. But only on a bodies.

Who made the intake? If it is a Mopar intake, it most likely came off an earlier A body.

its definitely a factory mopar cast iron intake. I seen some casting numbers on it but I didn't try to dissect it..
so would that factory bolt pattern be a AFB carter? or? Edelbrock 500 fit it? or would I need a spacer?

and on a side note, several websites and most I go to for production numbers, engine specs etc... show a 4bbl option for 67 coronet fyi. unless there all wrong?
