Found this in the 68 Charger, trying to figure out what trans and ratio it originally came with, sort of hard since its weathered right where the answer would be any guesses?

707 = engine assembly code = 383-2bbl 543= transmission assembly code 225 = rear axle assembly code Check your 400 series code on the second line of the BS. I'm guessing you'll find code 401 = 2.76 gears.

I am embarrassed to admit, I bought this car and it has a 318 in it, I registered it and never never never ONCE thought about taking a hard look at the VIN. I had no idea it was a 383 car
I am sooo happy right now Vin is Xp29G8B338xxx
