The Max build = 1967 R/T 440 4-speed Dana-60
#21
At sometime in Max's life the front k-member and lower control arms have swapped out since there was no mounts for a sway bar. I thought all R/Ts came with them. So I got new Hotchkis weld-on brackets for the end links and located a 15/16th bar and factory frame brackets. Put it all together this weekend and it feels great now. I already installed a rear bar so were all set for bars now.

Now what can I do? Drive Smile

Andy - did you end up changing the valve springs?

Without removing heads I took a set out and tested them, and they were a couple pounds soft. So I put them back on. Way back when I got these heads they had battleship springs set with Titanuim retainers, and I took them out for my street driving and way smaller cam.

Here is after new cam installed.

Coil relocated back where it use to be way back, and removed washer bucket(never use it )

I had an oil leak at the valley pan that seems fixed now(knock on wood). This time went with crossover block off pan.

Down one jet size in primaries and didn't notice any difference so thats great because it ran fine, just trying to lean out plug's a bit.

Hello Andy,

Max's engine compartment looks great my friend! I did notice the longer than normal spark plug wires. Are you doing that to keep them away from heat sources such as headers?

Your right Richard these wires are long. They are a set of Jacobs with premade ends heat shrinked all nice and purty so I just left them, never burned one yet.

Haven't tinkered on Max lately but I did manage to remove some fuel out of the tank up in the mountain roads Saturday.

Rear tires are about gone too, must be something wrong with the rubber.
