Thanks again guys. Last night ended up being more thunder and lightening with some light spotty rain than heavy rain and today is supposed to be much calmer, but the weather folks are saying that another round of heavy rain is on it's way from California by tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes.
I agree with you Zoran, when the ground gets extremely dry for long periods of time, it just won't handle much rain, so the water just flows wherever it wants to go and once it builds up momentum, there's not much you can do to stop it. Road management officials were really worried yesterday morning about the I-17 freeway which is one of the major highways throughout Phoenix and most all other AZ communities and is also one of the main routes that folks use to travel from Phoenix up to all of the cities in Northern Arizona, as it was heavily flooded in several areas yesterday morning as seen in the pictures below. It looks as if we were lucky though, as after the water receded yesterday afternoon, there was a lot of mud and debris to clean up, but they didn't find any damage to the roadway itself, so it was reopened. Objects quickly DISAPPEAR in the rearview mirror and PLEASE stay seated until the ride comes to a complete stop!!

My 99 Ram 1500 Sport Quad Cab has seen the worst of the weather, as my wife drives it to work daily and since I have a two car garage and three vehicles, it has to be parked outside in the driveway, but so far it's received no damage either. I'm a lot luckier than lots of other folks who have lost almost everything during the floods and not having any flood insurance to help with their losses. Richard .
