Bracket & Pully ideas
#1
Since I am starting from scratch, wanted to ask the group what you thought/options for brackets and pulleys for my 1968 Charger (has the newer 70+ style engine wiring harness). I will be running a trans and radiator fan.

Options I thought of

1.Using a 70+ Alternator to take advantage of the 60 Amps (everything I have laying on the shelf is 30) and then a set a repo pullies/brackets (also has PS)

or will this work?

2. The denso 120 amp alt and then the March "serpentine' kit, not sure how that fits...or even if I need it.

Let the electrical load you are going to put on the system determine what alternator to use.

Don't need 120amps? Why spend extra dough for it?
I love Mopars so much I'm date coding the skid marks in my underwear.

I agree, do you really need 120? The GTX we just got in did have a tidy 120 set-up with stock single groove pully and stock brackets, fit fine to me.

Not a fan of Serp. belt set-up, maybe if they were't so bling bling looking on old cars guess I'm just old school

Engine looks sweet What rockers you using ?

They are 440 source rockers...stock bottom end, the eddy heads and a .488 .491 should work ok with the gears are convertor

I'd avoid using the 120 amp alternator if you're going to use ANY of the cars original wiring harnesses, as I've heard that the high amp alternators can fry the old under sized wiring. I'd stay with the 60 amp units that were used on most of the 60's and 70's upgraded electrical systems.
