is the clearance on the rear of my 67 coronet the same as it was on my 66 belvedere?
want to put the same kind of wheels and on my belvedere they barely fit and were 4.25" back spacing. wondered if my coronet was more or less clearance and could fit a bigger tire than the belvederes?
for example if I run a 15 x 8 wheel and its a factory steel wheel could I fit a 275 60 15 without cutting or grinding?
thanks for any help.

on my 66 ,15x8 5" backspace 255 60 15 is as big as i could go. Maybe,just maybe,with a 5 1/2" back space ,fit a 265 in there. good luck and let us know

most 8" wheels you buy these days off the shelf are 4 1/2" back spacing. so a 255/60 wont fit with a 4 1/2" back spacing?
blah.

Uncledon, I checked my wheel yesterday and American Racing sent me a 8 1/2 wheel!!! So we put on my buddies tire which was a 8" wheel 275/60/15 and it fit perfectly!!!! It had a 4 1/2" back space. Sorry about the misinformation I still can't believe they sent me an 8 1/2" wheel, that's why I couldn't stuff a 275 on mine

The Dodges have more room then the Plymouths.
