Long over due
#1
I've owned ths car since 1989, you don't really notice them but for as long as I remember it had these gray colored stains on the paint surrounding most of the trim. I've tried many times to "clean" it off using different cleaners & waxes as well as using brushes - never had any luck. Well I decided to get serious -

Here is a pic of the left tailite - see the gray stain on the paint around the "C" shaped trim? Also you can see it above and below the trunk trim.

To make thing easier I decided to remove the outer trunk trim, letters, lock cylinder and reverse lite assemblies. You can really see the stains with the parts removed.

What I ended up using to remove the stains, get ready to cringe . . . Acetone, wiping with a paper towel or using a toothbrush.

Here it is after cleaning off all the stains and waxing the pain - looks much better now. I cleaned and reinstalled the reverse housings, lock cyl & letters.

Next is to do some minor straitening of the upper & lower trim pieces before re-installing them - Does anybody know where I can get the plastic clips for the trunk trim?12065
