Oil filters for 383
#1
Hi all,
as I'm in aus. I cannot find a replacement oil filter for my 383ci as this engine was not standard in aus.
it has a pz1 pennzoil filter on it, and I am needing to change the oil,
what different brands and filter numbers can I use or do you use, everything I buy needs to be online which can get annoying.
cheers.

The filter is the same as a wix 51515, Fram ph8a. Not sure if numbers are the same in your country. Also it's the same as what Fords used in the 60s and 70s

I'd go with 10-40 if you can find it there.

Others might have a different idea.

I use the Fram PH8A on my 383. Also the Fram HP1 works. I would suspect that your Penz filter is a high performance filter like the Fram HP1.
These filters are easy to come by in the States.
If I was you? Google the application for your engine. Then research the brand you like based on quality and $$. Then order up a batch of them online.

Yeah wix are the filter of choice in the UK.

Who uses what on here and for what reasons? Price, quality, availability, what's on the shelf?
