I had the greatist time talking to the close friend of the owner of Max before me, speaking of period correct.

They both had `67 R/Ts and his was yellow and Matt's was red, he told me every weekend they would change something and the other would follow or laugh it off. Like putting air shocks on and jacking it all the way up, then paint red white and blue flag on rear end cover. Or slam the front and listen to the tires squeel. Matt modified the yellow ones rear fenders cause Mike asked him to and Matt was a body man and he liked it so much he did Max too.

Just fun to listen to the stories


I remember when I got my `70 Road Runner way before Max it was too guite with stock exhaust and I couldn't afford loud mufflers I drilled holes in mine LOL My Dad was not happy about that.

Not everybody did that. That may have been "normal" in California back in the '70's but it sure as heck wasn't normal in the Midwest where I'm from.

I think Iowa is still 'Midwest'. Was it typical? No paint jobs and suspension like that were pretty pricy when was $1.85 a six but I saw cars like that in my area. Not 'a lot' of them but they existed.
