I think that is a bit small. I would go minimum 1 3/4 bigger if the motor was high rpm and 550+ hp. That is my opinion.

I have 1 3/4 on my daughter's 4025 lb 67 Coronet that just ran 13.90's (street car) and 2" on my 528 motor in my 67 Coronet that runs 9.60's.
