Brakes Firewall Plate

I am getting tired of working on my electrical issues (aftermarket harness otherwise I would post questions here) so I am going to move on to the brakes system and come back to electrical. Anyway, I want to replace the front drums with to disc and also replace the MC with a dual bowl... after a lot of looking around, most of the booster/MC setups are for manual cars only and they won't work on factory power brake cars due to the firewall plate. I just wanted to confirm my thoughts with some guys on here before I order expensive parts... it looks to me like it used to be a power car (as I suspected) but someone along the way cut out the hole to make one of these kits works just as they specified in the JEGS document above. Agree? I think I'm going to move forward and order the setup for Manual cars and get crackin' on the brakes. I just wanted more than one set of eyes on it before I pulled the trigger. Anyone else does one of these conversions? Is it a pain? Any tips?

im in the same boat with you man i already found some disc to replace my drums from a junk yard need a power booster

I ended up buying the SSBC booster and dual pot MC from Summit Racing. Took some finagling to get in but seems to be working well (though I haven't had a chance to completely bleed them and only took it for a spin around the block before it got sent to the polebarn to be worked on later this year).

Mine is a manual brake car. I bought a factory upgrade 11" kit, and put on a power brake master cylinder. They work really well, even without the adjustable valve for the rear. It was a manual disk brake upgrade kit, using factory replacement parts, and a factory replacement master cylinder, just for a power brake system. Bolted right up to the firewall, just without the booster. Makes the peddle a little stiff, but it's all good!
