New (to me) fiberglass hood and scoop. AAR brand
#11
FYI, The mold for that hood was made from a hood that I provided. I saw AAR at Englishtown many years ago and asked if they made a hood for '66/'67 Coronets. They said no, partly because they couldn't find a good core to make a mold from. I bought a hood at the show and gave it to them for making a mold.

What are you using for hood springs? I found some at Home Depot for a friends fiberglass hood that looked correct with low tension.

Well I drilled it for the molding. No problem with that but the original retainers/studs are not long enough. They need to be at least an inch long. The hood isn't that thick there but it is thicker than sheet metal. Here is a picture. The original on the right. The one on the left is from a piece of dash trim. It just pokes through. Not enough for a nut. Might have to make my own.

I got the hood springs with it. Todd said the came from AAR also.
Here is another picture of the underside.

Next thing is the hood letters. No way they will go on like the original hood. I don't think the pegs will even go through. Going to have to use some other retainers. Like wall mollies or something. Then I think I might put "383 FOUR BARREL" emblems on the sides of the scoop.

Maybe use permatex right stuff on pins and push em through and a little more on whats underside, they wont go anywhere.

That's just it. They won't go through. It's going into a blind hole. I don't know if something like these would work.
