Verification Needed Please

Hello Mike,

Could you please verify if you're only looking for aftermarket part numbers for harder to find parts in this forum, or are you also looking for factory part numbers that can be used by DCR members to cross match to aftermarket part numbers when they go to their local parts stores?

Cool, thank you Mike!

Being a huge fan of the 1966 and 1967 Dodge and Plymouth B-Body cars, I see on a regular basis where both aftermarket part suppliers, as well as individual sellers either unknowingly misrepresent which cars their parts are correct for, or are very vague on which cars their parts are correct for, or in the case of individual sellers, really don't know what cars their various parts are correct for.

My intension here is NOT to make ANY of our high quality aftermarket part suppliers, or anyone else look bad, but rather to supply some additional helpful information to help our DCR members avoid purchasing parts that are not correct for their particular 1966, or 1967 B-Body cars. In the case of most all of the reproduction parts that I will discuss in this forum, my problem is NOT with the parts themselves, but rather with the lack of helpful part descriptions and model applications for those nicely done parts. I will also show examples of ebay auctions where various parts have been incorrectly listed for model applications.

These first few parts fall under the "vague application" category. These parts in most all cases are listed for use on "1966 Coronet models" with no model designations given and while most 1966 Coronet owners know that the back-up lamp assemblies are different on the various trim level cars, some might not know that there are differences on the back-up lamp lenses and gaskets between various trim level models. I will show and explain those differences below.

The parts in question are the reproduction 1966 Coronet back-up lamp bezel and lens assemblies which are made and sold by P.G. Classics based in Canada and that are also sold by many other high quality U.S. based reproduction part suppliers such as my friend Mike Ross who owns BE&A Restoration Parts which I will use as an example for these parts. While these bezels, lenses and gaskets that P.G. Classics and BE&A sell are top notch and are correct for all of the 1966 Coronet 440 trim level cars and the 1966 Coronet Deluxe trim level cars except for the station wagon models, none of these parts are correct for the 1966 Coronet 500 trim level cars.
