Alright..another 727 problem for you guys...
When going between 30 and 40 mph the transmisson will act like it wants to shift to 3rd but will stay in second kinda like half... its only after it gets hot and only at that speed..if i get up to say 55 mph it will shift around 45 and be fine.. and shift firm and good... what the problem here..ive heard maybe over heat? maybe i should get external cooler? what do you guys think?
EDIT: also the kickdown is fine..when the pedal is to the floor the linkage on the trans is all the way to the rear..unless somehow it sticks when driving in some way

Is your fluid level okay on a level surface in netural ? Wheels chocked!!
My 727 leaks. And when it gets low. It shifts like that.
I'm no tranny guy. But it could be a adjustment as well to one of the bands?
I'd get professional help to fix it.

Stupid question, but are you checking the fluid the way the dipstick says. Newer cars are in park, and our old ones are in neutral. Also run it through the gears for a moment too.

Of course in neutral hot like it says and it was over.. So that could cause this problem?

Over full can be harmful too. Yet unsure of what it might cause if left over full.
How over full is it on the stick? 1/8" 1/4" 1/2"?

It expands a lot from cold to hot. When it is too high, the oil can foam and the pump can't pump oil correctly. But 3/4 inch is not that much over.

What kind of transmission fluid are you using?
