It happened back in December, I didn't hear about it until recently.

Too bad to see it go away, sad news indeed when any drag strip is de-commissioned.

That is too bad Mike, it seems that we are experiencing another round of track closures across the country. Both tracks in Phoenix are closed. one for good not sure about the other. California Speedway is closed and is in the middle of some screwy excessive noise lawsuit and Irwindale was closed but re-opened. Now Island - I'm sure there will be more. Personally there is not much in this world that I enjoy more than drag racing and experiencing the sounds and smells associated with the drag strip.

I hope so, they've closed up enough dragstrips in the last 25-30 years.
Objects quickly DISAPPEAR in the rearview mirror and PLEASE stay seated until the ride comes to a complete stop!!
