Picked up another Mopar
#1
Got this '68 Charger from my friend Nick (Mopedope) Something to tinker on while I am in between doing work on the Coronet. Its a 318/727 (shes tired) I have a 440 almost ready to drop in, she needs some body work but AMD makes just about every piece of steel for her

I have since dropped the rear end back down (someone had put helpers on her)

What a score, I do miss my `68 B5 318 Charger I traveled all over the US in it. That red with black top sure looks good.

Those helper springs only served the purpose of lifting the rear end to accomodate wide tires. Good to see you dropped it back down where it should be. NICE CAR! I once travelled over 150 MPH in a friends' '68 440 R/T and the front end was lifting so much he could hardly control the steering! We had pumped in aviation gas, something like 115/120 octane and the exhaust manifolds were glowing red when we stopped to check the engine out after that high speed burst. You best put some bigger brakes and suspensoin parts on this beast, you're going to need that!

Cool new ride Piper! Cool Makes me miss my 70 Charger R/T that I had before my 66 Coronet 500. You won't know what to do with yourself when you can just pick up the phone and order parts for that car! Wink

AND better yet, the parts that you need will actually be IN STOCK and READY TO SHIP to you! Big Grin Dang buddy, you're going to almost feel like you've purchased a 350 small block powered Camaro! LOL!!!

By the way, have you purchased a factory service manual for your new Charger yet? My assistant Helga wants to know! LOL!

You know I haven't and that might be really helpful. Knowing the Coronets pretty well I look at the Charger and think "oh this is different"

Hi Piper,

Mechanically they are all pretty much the same, but body and interior wise, they are totally different animals! I've owned both 66 and 67 Coronet's and the 70 Charger R/T, so I've "been there, done that"!
