Where is everybody?
#1
It seems like there were more First Generationers when the old site was up than are here now. What happened to everyone? Is it just that everyone is too busy, lack of interest or what? I belong to a few other Forums/Groups that at least get a post every day or so. Just thought I'd be the one to ask the question. I know this isn't the H.A.M.B. but come on. How about an icon?.....Banging Gears

Weather might have something to do with it. Here in Boston, spring is flipping us the bird, but else where, I'm sure it's starting to turn nice and people are spending less time indoors.

Maybe some of the guys think the DCR folded when they went to the new site?

I was on the orig site for a short time before the new one came on.i like the format better and much easier to navigate.i also cruise fbbo and moparts regularly and of the three i prefer the smaller number of the same posters here to the larger numbers of the other 2.hardly post at all on Mopars because you get jumped on for any newbie kind of question.fbbo is a lot better and because of high number of members you can get quite a few different posters chipping in to help with a problem.but I prefer the smaller family feel here at dcr.

Beings we bought that 82 Kcar convert last year, I get on their website from time to time, most of the guys are ok, but nothing like the "troups" here! I also get on the Birds and the Bees and the Dick Landy site, that's a good one!

Actually me and Piper were talking about how much the site has changed since the rebuild..

Before, a large majority of the users were 66-70 owners.. we had some of the First/Second Gen's, but not many of the Last generation.

Now, it seems to be more evenly distributed. We get lots more questions, discussions going on about the First/Second ones. I know I've gotten a better appreciation for those years. And we've seen more of the Last gen have showed up.

You guys make the site what it is.. me and Kevin just keep the peace.. well.. sometimes I disturb it.. but it's all for fun Smile

Thanks
I love Mopars so much I'm date coding the skid marks in my underwear.

Every site has it's advantages and disadvantages.

Moparts can get like a disco on Saturday night. Lots of manic activity and noise. You can get lost in the shuffle and not have a good time.
FFBO is like the new trendy wine club that everyone wants to check out and see where they fit in. Soon, the 'regular's' will settle out and the board will find it's place.
DCR is like your favorite small neighborhood bar. Not a lot of people but you know them and consider them friends. You can go in, have a quiet Beer, shoot some darts and just relax. No drama...no issues.

I don't post much but I do pop in 2-3X a day to see what's going on. It's the only board I support financially because I believe in what Kevin and the admins try and accomplish. (Plus, I AM coming back to Carlisle again someday and want to stay on Kevin's good side for more free food.....and pipes. Gotta hear the pipes.)
