Voltage Regulator Fix
#1
I remember from the old board that there was a fix for adding an Electronic Voltage Regulator to an existing charging system. There were diagrams...etc... I'm trying to remember how to wire it, and what Electronic version I needed to use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

I do not recall it being called that, but that could be it. I remember you had to splice the electronic regulator in the system out of the alternator?

Yup.. what you're talking about is putting in a dual field alternator and the newer style alternator.

I'll see if I can pull it out of the old site tonite after I get off work.

Yes that is it! Thanks so much! I think when I purchased my alternator the parts house sold me the "square back" alternator which is the dual field version. Sadly, I'm still running the old voltage regulator, and I'm having charging issues.
