Headliner & dash
#1
I’m attempting to replace the headliner and wiring harness in my 70 coronet 500 (in addition to the carpet). Everything is disassembled and I’m ready to pull the dash, but the dash screws seem to be behind the windshield rubber and I can’t get the old headliner scraps out at the top of the windshield.
So here’s my question…
Can the dash be pulled and can the headliner be replaced without pulling out the windshield?

I don't think you can get the dash out without taking the windshield out in a 70 B Body. But I don't know any reason why you need to pull the dash or the windshield to do the headliner. I certainly didn't have to in my 67 Coronet?.

I don't know that you have to worry about the scraps. Can't take a razor blade and cut them as close as you can? Then not worry about them?

I would suspect that a factory service manual would define the procedure. Do you have a copy? If not, you can download one for free here:

I am replacing the wiring harness behind the dash also. I went ahead & pulled the windshield. One of the easiest things I ever did… By myself… It took me longer to get the chrome off than to trim the rubber and pop the windshield out. Hopefully it survives the reinstallation.
However, the AC/heater box is giving me trouble.
I met a guy at Chrysler’s at Carlisle that rebuilds them. I forget his name and I lost his business card. Can anyone help with that information? Does anybody know who I’m talking about?

I looked at the event guide and couldn't find an a/c or heater category but if you look through the vendor list it might jog your memory.
