You're right Mike, that car is located right in the middle of a growing fire and I believe that folks are getting mandatory evacuation notices in that area as of today. My son Rick is also located only about five miles from another growing fire in the Santa Monica area. He says that many of the major freeways are being shut down and that lots of people in the various fire areas are losing their homes and businesses. High winds expected tonight will only make things worse. Prayers go out to all of those in the affected fire areas.

I hope Rick stays safe, the main freeway 101 is shut down now. The skies are full of smoke all the way to us like the fire is across the street.

Thank you very much Andy. Rosie and I spoke with him several times yesterday and so far he's fine, but as you mentioned the 101 is shut down as well as the 405 and parts of the 10 and I don't have to tell a Californian what that means. Some fire areas will see 80 to 90 mile an hour winds today and possibly for the next few days, so yes, this is a very serious situation indeed.

Richard

PS Please accept my apology for hi-jacking your thread on this car Rich. I do hope that it survives this disaster as well, but it is located in one of the worst fire areas with most all folks receiving mandatory evacuations.

Six fires going and not much containment on any of them. Very nasty air quality in theSanta Monica / Westwood area where Rick is.
