I was wondering why no one was buying it, this is the first time the ad said the engine was seized. The other thing I noticed was the rear wheel opening is not correct and will not fit a molding. I'm assuming it was a rusty car. I've really been avoiding making the call for months.

What would you pay for this car say you had to go by pics only and have it delivered to your door before seeing in person? Just for a conversation here

Two things that bother me the most regarding this particular car.

Quote:Title status: missing

Motor won't turn over from being parked for 7 years

The missing title MIGHT not be an issue, but it certainly could be. Personally, I would never purchase a car, especially a vintage car without verified paperwork.

My 1966 Coronet 500 has sat for longer than that unstarted and it will always turn over, it may not start due to fuel system issues, but it will always turn over freely, but I am in a much different weather climate than this car is. What do you think Rich? Is it likely that this 440 would seize if the car was parked inside of an unheated garage for the past seven years in your climate?

I would not purchase this car unless I could see it in person, or have someone I truly trust like Rich taking a very close look at it for me. Several things don't add up here.

I've seen motors get stuck before. It could be the climate, but also could just be a well used motor with carbon in the rings and it just gets stuck. My brother bought an old Military Jeep M5? It had been sitting for years in a damp garage in the motor wouldn't budge at all. My brother took off the head and literally pounded the pistons with a block of wood and a sledge. With mystery oil and a little patience he got it running. Never did anything else to the motor. There's always the possibility of getting it unstuck, but you never know how it will turn out. Using a boroscope will help.

Honestly the missing rear wheel lip moldings bother me more. The car might need more work on the quarter, who knows. If it had more options I might be interested in adding to my addiction, but as of now, I really have too many and so far haven't been able to even start assembling the silver car, so I really have to control myself.
