I'm running the reverse pattern Cheeta valve body in my 66 Coronet 500 Kevin. On the street the shift pattern isn't a big deal, but on the drag strip the reverse shift pattern made doing burnouts and launching the car easier for me. Is this the first car you've owned with a manual valve body equipped automatic?

Yes...Ive driven ones with the reverse patterns and it just feels unnatural to me. I am using the turbo action shifter in this car...

I foresee putting a stick in this car someday ...so ill use that trans with my Coronet with the factory floor shifter

The Muscle cars that I've owned over the years were almost all factory 4 speed cars with a couple of exceptions, but after setting up full manual reverse pattern automatics in both my 1970 Charger R/T and my 1966 Coronet 500, I've found most all of the fun of a 4 speed without the additional foot work with the full manual automatics. In the end though, whatever makes you happy is always the best! Please let us know how you enjoy driving the Charger with this full manual transmission if you get the chance to take it to Carlisle ok?

Not sure the pics reveal anything

I converted it from coLunn shift and used floor column collar

Nothing.. the clips are only there to hold the grease cover on. When the shaft is tightened down in the column and then the column is bolted to the dash frame, that's what locks it into the coupler.

did you put the bolt in the bottom bearing?

Look at your pictures, then look at Roy's column. See how his has that lip at the base of the bearing? I don't see that in yours.

Yup ..the bolt is there ..it secured the bearing to the outer tube and the inner shaft rides on the bearing..I think the flash makes it hard too see

Also I had painted everthing gloss black so it may be hiding the what the bearing looks like

On a 67 there is a collar with a set screw that holds it in place. You can add a collar.

Also on the 67 there is a clip inside that holds the tube together (the one the has those broken plastic pins). Did yours not have this? The clip does a pretty good job of keeping the shaft from moving.
