My R/T project

Glad you found a place RT. Life happens man, don't let it stop you from making progress on the car. It's looking good. My floor is up next too.

I've been sanding the driver side of the car in preparation for primer. I found some previous repairs to the lower part of the door. Mostly the rear corner. I have a door skin from a 4 door I will use to patch it if it matches up good enough.

That should work fine to fix that up.

I've been working on the driver door since Saturday and almost got it done . It turned out to be more than just the lower corner though. I had to repair the whole edge of the door. I broke it into 3 sections. There's always more rust hiding than you see as I've been told. But I got it. Just a little more grinding to smooth out the welds. My welding hasn't gotten any better it seems, but here's what I did so far.

Just about got the door repair done. A few more coats of primer and block sand it. Not perfect but for me ok. You have to look really close to see anything, not like before, the cracks showed from 5 feet. I'm glad I went beyond my comfort zone. Well worth it.

Today I was working on the trunk sealing flange along the edge closest to the windshield. I cut out the lip section and fit the patch from my Belvidere I'm parting out. Also repaired a section at the rear of the trunk on the driver side. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow as my new phone doesn't give me the option to use pictures from my gallery. I don't know why.

I was able to put a couple of coats of primer on the sides before the neighbor got back home. Still need a couple on top too. With the primer some areas that need more attention appeared. I will address them this week.

Yes it's inferno red pearl from a 99 Durango. It has gold pearl that pops when the sun hits it. It's getting close to completion and I'm getting excited.
