Yes, I already know the paint and interior codes. I know that the E44 is the engine, D31 is the tranny and the A109121 is the lynch road assembly plant and the 9,121 car produced. The other numbers I have not Idea.
The top line relates to the Body in white (BIW) or assembling the unibody.
09 is the specific gate or assembly stall of the parts.
139 = 39th assembly that day
107829 the 7,829th BIW assembled for that plant for that model year.
865 = engine assembly = B body 318 with automatic and heater (non A/C car)
572 = axle assembly = B body rear end. I do not know the specifics. You can reverse engineer this code by looking at the rear end (8.25 or 8/75), the gears, SG or not and the brakes.
080 = transmission assembly = late 68 early '69 automatic for behind a 318
The VIN is unrelated to production and is an administrative function. The number 9121 is only the 9,121st VIN assigned. This specific car may have actually been produced before 109000 or after 109500. One never knows the actual production sequence.
