I am a Canon guy too. Currently I have the 7D.
6920] I have a few lenses for it. 70-200mm F2.8 L 16-35mm F2.8 L 50mm "Nifty Fifty" F1.8 (prime) 17-85mm F2.8 Tokina 100mm F2.8 D (prime) I had the 40D before, that was a great camera, I just wore it out. I think that 40D had over 60,000 shutter cycles on it! I am approaching 1.4 million views on my Fickr galleries, and if I do not rock up to a car show with my camera a lot of people ask why! ![]()

A very nice Cannon SLR camera there indeed Zoran! I went back and forth between a Cannon SLR style camera and my Cannon PowerShot SX40HS which is basically one of their top of the line "point and shoot" cameras and when I really thought about what kind of photos I'd be taking most often, plus the added expense of the various lenses needed for the SLR cameras to take full advantage of their features, I decided the SX40HS was best for me, but with all of the activities that you use your camera for, I can absolutely see why the SLR is a great match for your needs and the proof is in the pictures, as you always share nicely done photos with us and others!

I have a Cannon EOS t3i. I also have a 1977 Cannon AE1. I bought a adaptor to try to use the lens from the AE1 on the EOS but I haven't had much luck taking good pictures.

Are most of your issues related to trying to get the older lens to work with the newer camera Joe? The Cannon EOS t3i looks to be a nice camera with lots of useful features.

That's exactly the problem I'm having. I have a good 200mm lens and a wide angle lens for the AE1. Since the old lens's are not electronic it is manual focus only. That's not the problem. The problem I have is the picture looks in focus in the viewfinder but when I download the picture it's not in focus. I was trying to save money by trying to get the lens I all ready had work instead of buying new ones.

Could you switch off the auto focus feature on the camera and just use the manual focus with the older lenses? Maybe the two are fighting each other and causing the problem?

The auto focus switch is on the lens of EOS. It comes off with the lens.

Sorry Joe, I've never owned one of the SLR style cameras, so I'm not going to be much help here I guess. Maybe other Cannon SLR owners can chime in with some suggestions that might help you solve this problem?
