I've always liked the 66-67 Chevelles!!
Objects quickly DISAPPEAR in the rearview mirror and PLEASE stay seated until the ride comes to a complete stop!!

As you know Mike, I also owned a 1967 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed back in the late 70's. Great looking cars but I found it challenging to get the rear tire to hook up under hard acceleration due to the cars rear coil suspension. :p The car was in grey primer when I bought it, so after smoothing out all of the cars original rust free sheet metal, I had a friend of mine who owed a body shop back then spray the car in a Cadillac Dark Blue Metallic. I also replaced all of the cars exterior emblems with brand new GM parts and had both bumpers re-chromed.

'66 is my favorite year Chevelle. My folks had a '67 396 4-speed SS, yellow w/black interior. They bought it in '68, traded in my mom's '57 VW bug. I have the bill of sale from Savage Pontiac. I also have some 8mm video of the car filmed in '68 or '69. It had the same wheels your '67 had Richard, and white wall tires too!
If a man speaks while in his garage and his wife does not hear it, is he still wrong?

That style hood scoop and the chrome reverse wheels with baby moon hub caps may not be as popular these days as they were back then, but with the price of aftermarket whhels these days, I have considered going back to the chrome reverse wheels and baby moon hub caps for my Coronet because I still love that look. I've also considered the classic Cragar mags as well for that vintage 60's look. Don't see many folks running the velocity stacks these days either, but they were very popular on street cars back then. Richard

Welcome to the DCR!
Looks like you have a considerable amount of time invested on your Chevelle! It's been a VERY long time since I was able to work on a car where I could separate the body from the chassis for restoration! Can you give us more information on your Chevelle's options and what you have in mind for it? What Mopars are you considering adding to your collection? Richard
