Well, no one seems to reproduce a workable stereo upgrade for the '66 (red headed bastard child) Coronets. I will not butcher the dash; what are other options for a workable in-dash modern unit? I saw some where on the net a company that installs electronic guts in old stereos but now I can't find them.
Any suggestions?

Probably not close enough for you, but there's a guy up here in Ontario that will take your radio & convert it to full am/fm stereo with ipod input, leaving the face and knobs absolutely stock. I bought an FM under dash converter for my stock '66 radio from him & it works great - FM through the single dash speaker! Cost for the full conversion is in the area of $400. - $425. CDN. I can send contact info if you wish.

I had Wards convert mine to FM with aux input. It is expensive but it works good and looks completely stock.

Hey boydsdodge, the chap's name is Harold MacQueen and his business is called "the automobile radio emporium". He's located in Brighton, Ont (East of Grafton) at 95 Alice St. Phone # is 613-475-4257. He usually has a stall at the Lindsay Auto flea market (this year May 2/3). Hope this helps.
