Tek,

Good source there. I have a question into that seller concerning his auction for those rebuilt switches. It's unclear to me if that auction is for a full set of rebuilt switches, or for a single rebuilt single gang switch. If it's a full set, they will be coming to Phoenix unless Rich beats me to them. Wink

Richard

Yeah, I'm not quite at that stage yet mate! WOW!

That is for the full set. Just message him to confirm. I am not sure why it says 'single' in the description.

Be careful Richard, they look like they were pitted and polished. If you look closely at the face of the switch, close to the raised edge, you can see what is left of pitting.

And I've always considered you to be ahead of me in the hoarding department...but that could be one of the signs too.Rofl

Thank you very much Rich and I agree, as I noticed the pitting on the chrome bezels as well, but I'm really morre interested in the rebuilt switch assemblies than the chrome bezels. I do have several nice bezels on hand that I could use with these rebuilt switches.

As mentioned, I sent this seller a message via Ebay pm service to verify if this auction is indeed for a complete set of switches or not, so if it is for a full set and I do end up purchasing them, I'll let you guys know how his customer service and restoration skills work out. I will also try to find out what he charges to restore the switches you already own as well. There was a gentleman on the Moparts web site that I spoke with a few years ago that rebuilt power window switches, but he only did the 1969 and up style switches and not the 1966-1968 style switches that we all use.

I bought from him and I noticed that the photos show pitting, but like Rich, I am more interested in the switches. My bezels are perfect on my car.

On a note about the one faulty window.

My ammeter is not working, it shorted out one time when I stupidly forgot to disconnect my battery while taking the dash out. I thought no probs, the ammeter is a dangerous beast anyway and I was planning to bypass it.

But here is the thing I noticed by accident yesterday.

With the car running, if I hit a switch (ANY window switch) the ammeter needle which normally is now straight up at 12 '0 clock, jumps to the C side momentarily. SO what does that mean? The window I am having trouble with does not jump as MUCH as the other ones that are working correctly. IS this indicating that the current is LESS for that window? And what's up with the ammeter? It does not show or move at all any other time, so it's most def. not showing the state of the battery. But it IS jumping with hitting ANY of the power window switches.

I tried turning on and off my headlights (which are converted to H4's and use twin relays), the ammeter needle does not move.

My new power window single switches are in country but not with me yet. I should get them next week. I hope to have my door trims off then and look into whats going on.

I got my new switches a few minutes ago. I have not pulled the door trims will do that later this week. But the condition of these things are AMAZING!

I now have a REAL decision to make. Whether I use mine or replace them with these ones.
