Any vert guys out there?
#1
Years ago there was a convertible section on the site. I stripped one completely and have since lost the hard drive with all my disassembly pics. My memory is good but......

I'm going to have questions with putting the stainless back on the top of the windshield. Seems I remember just cutting it off and there was some sort of foam/adhesive holding it down. Anyone know if that stuff is available and how it goes on?

On my 67 vert the trim on top appears to be held on with screws. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of foam or butyl tape underneath it to reduce vibration noise which may explain you recalling the need to "cut" it off. Mine was disassembled when purchased so I may not be the most help here.

Thank you for the response. I haven't dug the trim out of a box yet but remembered it was glued down and I don't think there were any screws. (Could have forgotten). I just found a guy selling the foam tape on eBay. $10 its on the way to me.

I can take a couple pics of mine tomorrow and post here if you want. Might help refresh the brain. I'm also looking for a few convertible specific trim items if you have extra parts.

Sure I'll always look at a pic. Not to much in the way of extra parts for the convertible. I do have an extra top frame and some sun visor brackets. I noticed some windshield trim on eBay yesterday. But man is it pricey.

Not a great pic but it does show the screw holes in the top. It is just sitting in the frame. Hind sight, I should've taken them off for the pics. I think it has uploaded. Trying to do this from mobile device. 3877

Thanks for the pic. Mine are in a box on the top shelf but now I'm curious. Going to get the ladder up there today.
