build code Y16 Sales Bank for 1969 Coronet 500
#1
Does anyone know what a Y16 code may have meant. My build sheet calls it a Sales Bank. Does that mean a number of cars built to be ready for a sale? Essentially built by the factory with specs that they thought would make for a popular sale?

Thank you

That's exactly it. They had to keep the line running and some cars for dealer inventory, so they would put together popular combinations to send to dealers.

Interesting concept, I wasn't aware of that. Sure does make sense business wise.
