I have a question for fellow 49/50 coronets owners that have installed a visor on it.i purchased one from ebay that said would fit my model.the question is, the mounting brackets have a L shape on end which I assume go under the drip rail.problem is door will hit bracket before closing.i ve seen some that is flat with holes to mount.do I need to cut off bend and mount inside the drip rail? thanks for the help tim

great shots exactly the same brackets.didnt mount was holding to test door closing.have to look at them may be bent downward.thanks. by the way didn't you mention you had a large parts book? if so & when you have time .....im looking for a drivers side hood hinge can you see if all Chrysler models in 1950 took the same one.thanks again
Exclude the plymouth's. I show the 50 DeSoto and the 50 Chrysler with the same numbers but my book doesn't show any numbers for the 50 Coronet. In 49 some time during the production run the numbers changed. All early 49's and the early 50 Imperials were the same and then the numbers changed later. I'm guessing that the 50 Chrysler will fit your 50 Coronet. I had to replace the same hood hinge on my '49 Coronet and got one from a DeSoto. I didn't pull it myself but I had sent a pic to a fellow in N. Dakota that had a salvage yard and he knew and sent me exactly what I needed. If you can take a good look at the one you are going to replace with. I'm guessing the change only had to do with the strength of the rivet that the hinge rotated on.

thanks for the information,most of the 50 Chryslers&Dodges look similar in front end style hopefully they did use all same.i believe from 51 they changed from coil to spring?
